My youngest son Lyonel, had shared this story with me many years ago…

I Wanted To Change The World

By Unknown Monk, 1100 A.D.

“When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world.

I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation.

When I found I couldn’t change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family.

Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself, I could have made an impact on my family. My family and I could have made an impact on our town. Its impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.”

Well, the night before I left Los Angeles to launch my World Peace Campaign in Vienna I had dinner with my son Lyonel and he reminded me of this story again and said: “Mom, you have to tell them about the monk’s story.”

Yes, he was so right on, and when I got to Vienna that’s what I did. And you know what, when I was at United Nations sharing about my World Peace vision and my beliefs, I felt like that monk that wanted to change the world and I said “thank you God that I woke up to do this.”

Now more than ever I believe Peace around the world is possible. People that attended were excited. They wanted to enroll, participate in every way possible. They asked me what they could do to help. What was the next step? Like Ana Teresa Dengo, the ambassador of Costa Rica in Vienna and the host of my event there said: “We are all in positions where we could actually make a difference and where Peace is a constant issue.”

Well, from Vienna to your computer – this is how you can get involved:

My oldest son Jonathan woke me up when he reflected the way I used to talk to him with anger and resentment and I know it is my responsibility to wake up others.

It is all of us responsibility to wake up others and show by our own example. I created some products as you know to maintain us conscious and aware, so that we can practice and experience peace for longer period of times.

As we speak, we are organizing a Peace telesummit for the fall and a presentation in the Middle East in December with very renowned world leaders. Wouldn’t you love to come and be part of it?

I know what you are thinking, “what can I do?” You might feel you are too small or you cannot make a difference, but you are so mistaken! You are bigger than you can imagine and you can make a BIG difference. You are here for something very important and it is about time you wake up!

So here is a poem that my son Lyonel also shared with me. Maybe Mother Teresa will convince you of your power to heal?

ANYWAY

by Mother Teresa

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.

Love them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies.

Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.

Be good anyway.

Honesty and frankness will make you vulnerable.

Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.

Build anyway.

People need help but will attack you if you help them.

Help them anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.

It was never between you and them anyway.

I know in your heart you know this is possible and you want to enroll too. Now, let me ask you, what can you do today to spread world peace?

If nothing else sign up for the Peace Newsletter so you can be the first to hear about the peace telesummit when it is released!

I knew the technique of Ho’ponopono from before, but thanks to your wonderful presentation at the VIC in Vienna in summer 2011, it just reminded mi to put it more in practice in my daily life. And that’s what I have been doing since then. With MARVELLOUS results and changes to the better in my life. Life is really a lot easier while constantly singing the song: I’m sorry, please forgive, I thank you and I love you.
Thank you Mabel for your precious work in the world !
    Blessings,
    Ma. Mercedes
